Our nursing staff will work with you or your loved one in your home for optimum recovery following your surgeon’s specific protocol. The nurse will customize a home care plan for you to meet all aspects of your post-operative recovery, including pain management, infection control, monitoring for blood clots, incision care and removal of staples or sutures with continued incision observation, all in the comfort you your own home. The nurse will monitor the use of blood thinners, if prescribed, with quick PT/INR readings preformed in your home and promptly reported to your surgeon. The nurse will teach you or your caregiver proper administration of injections if prescribed by your surgeon.
Our trained therapists will work to maximize your ability to be safely independent following surgery. An individual evaluation will be performed to assess your specific needs. Physical therapy will create a treatment plan to progress your range of motion, increase your strength and ability to walk, control swelling and reduce pain, and improve your balance to prevent falls. Our occupational therapists work to help you achieve independence with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, or preparing food utilizing adaptive equipment as needed. Our therapy team provides caregiver training to reinforce the benefits of treatment, ensuring optimal recovery. Once home therapy is complete, you will be able to easily transition to an outpatient setting to achieve your maximum potential.
